Soo, it's Sunday, my one day of the week to sleep in now that tennis has started (grrr Debaun...) and what do I do? I wake up at freaking 8 am!!!! Well, I did stay in bed till about 8:30, but still, it angered me. So I go downstairs, grab the comics as my parents stare in shoch and crack horrible jokes about the world ending because Sara's up before Julie, etc. I go onto the screen porch. Halfway through my relaxing reading through the comics, huddled under a fleece blanket on the glider that doesn't glide, Mother and Father file into the porch from the kitchen. Cue Jaws music.
So they sit down and say it's time to have... The Talk. And no, this is not the talk about the birds and the bees (what's that have to do with anything, anyway?), but the talk of Why Won't Our Daughter Get Her Driving Permit. So there was the usual, "We just want to understand... you were so excited about it... what happened?" So it was a parental ambush, telling me how concerned they were and stuff. It's very odd, because in Feruary when I was excited about getting my permit, they were just like, "Shut up or you'll never get it!" and now I don't want it and they're all, "Drive or die!" So that's extremely annoying, and Dad took the comics away, saying I was being really rude. Personally, I think they were rude to interrupt my relaxing morning in the first place, but whatever.
I got every reason under the sun for Why I Should Drive, everything to, "what happens when you get a job next summer?" to "you can drive yourself to practices... and drive your sister around too!" (yeah that really makes me want to drive) to "you don't have to go everywhere with your parents!" which, I must admit, does sound really nice right about now. But I finally escaped the torture by saying I would think about and talked to Kristina for a good long while. She actually talked me into at least taking the test, so I started studying. (Umm, yeah... Nathan, I still have your drivers manual...)
But now, 13 hours later, I'm not so sure again. Gah. I'm such a freak. I'll probably get to the test place and freak out halfway through, have a nervous breakdown. They'll take me out in a straightjacket. So watch for me on the news!
